In Visual Arts we read the story of ‘The Cat and the Bird’ then looked at the artwork of Paul Klee.

He used colour, line and shape to create his artworks.

We were inspired to create our own using pastel and dye. It was important for us to remember to outline in black.

We think they look great.

In preparation for our celebration of St. Anne’s Feast Day, the Foundation students have read stories about grandparents, talked about what we do with our grandparents and the special times we share with them.

We watched a DVD about how St. Joachim and St. Anne cared for and loved their daughter, Mary.

We looked at some artwork that depicts St. Anne, Mary and Jesus.

Then we created our own images of these three special people.

Last Thursday Cam from Green Hats came to St. Anne’s for a workshop using his equipment called, ‘Planks’.

The Foundation students were all very excited, enthusiastic and showed great creativity designing and constructing all sorts of cities, towns, bridges, and even a dinosaur’s skeleton!  This was a great ‘tuning in’ to our unit of Inquiry for this term.
